It’s always a big headache for every parent that there are toys all over the room after your kid plays. You have to put back all those toys to where it should be. As my babys are unable to clear up, I used the toys tether pouch storage which really did help me a lot. With the pouch storage, I just need to stuff all their toys together and tether them up.
However, as time went by, they are able to help me with the housework, so to teach my kids to organize the room on their own is totally an excellent idea. After teaching them, those messy toys are no longer bothering me, and it saves me lots of time. Moreover, organizing the room is their responsibility anyway.
To teach them to organize the room after playing, you should be the role model that they can refer to. As the first beginning, it’s inevitable that you have to show them or guide them what you did before. After couple times, the routine could be established for good.
Prepare enough boxes or storages for them and teach them to separate different kinds of toys on their own. And try to get the toys out of only one box for a time, which may be easy for organize.
To have fun while organizing the toys, you can turn it into a game with your kid. As for me, I would put a storage box in front of my babies and tell them to throw the plush toys into the box. It works really well, since they are happy and effective. However, don’t try to throw the heavy toys or toys with sharp edges, which might hurt others.
As for younger kids, you can tell them that it’s time for toys to fall asleep. Let your kid put the toys back gently. This idea works well too, especially for the dolls that girls love.
